The Books
Some exciting news on a couple of Books fronts:
1. There is some relatively new material from 1/2 of the band, Nick Zammuto, available here on Soundcloud. I will be so bold as to recommend "21 eyes and 16 nos."
And, file under vocational-meets-technical...
2. Nick Zammuto did the work of building/remodeling his home in Vermont, and there are some photos of his very cool place, with some very cool descriptions of why he made certain structural decisions. It's a house more or less exactly as you might imagine one built by the same guy who makes music from found sound. Check it out here (ooh and aah at the photos of his new son as you scroll down).
And speaking of photos, here are a couple shots to pass along. The first is of a snake taking advantage of a slice of TC concrete during the unseasonably warm first week of November. BTW, if the fire alarm went off while you were in Mr. Keaney's class, you'd be leaving out this door. Wave on the way by...

And this is the little adventurous cat who has been coming around my place lately. If I leave the garage open, he'll (I think he's a he) saunter right in and start poking around. He has also made his way inside the house on a couple of occasions and I'm beginning to think I ought to just set out some food and name him. Any suggestions?

On repeat.
This is MC, and besides Joe St. Pierre's mix, other bits of ear candy that have made their way in:
-Childish Gambino's new record Camp. Clever hip-hop that makes me wonder, "Is he serious?"
-Almost any audiobook (I heard a real bad version of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, though. So, not that one...)
-Illya Kuryaki and the Valderramas "Jaguar House" See below. (Jason, I feel like this is up your alley; think Parlaiment, but breezy and less cosmic).
-Memory Tapes (on the recommendation of Jason Seelye)
-Imelda May Mayhem (on the the recommendation of Jay Rodenhiser)

When I say hey...
Hello eternal denizens of C224.
Let's create a place to keep in touch, musically and otherwise; I imagine this as a spot to keep each other posted.
Jenny, we're all totally waiting for you to post a picture of yourself with a whole lot of Aqua Net in your hair standing next to someone most famous for wearing spandex in 1981. Hilarie, come on back one of these days to say hello and pick up your ceiling tile. Bring it back when you're done - what you started last May is way too great to remain unfinished and undisplayed. Bring Ben and Colby when you come, they need to finish, too. Cole, are you still fond of large belt buckles, ska music, and taking people by surprise? Scott, what's biting this time of year?
Check in soon, and see you out there.
